A theme decides how your board is built: its layout, its chrome, and which sections you can add to a page. Your colors, fonts, jobs, blog posts, custom pages and navigation are stored separately, so you can switch themes without losing any of them. easyboard ships nine themes: Classic (the default on every new board), Aurora, Bold, Clarity, Directory, Editorial, Metro, Minimal and Vanguard.
Open the Themes page
In the sidebar, open Design and click Themes.
At the top you will see Current theme: a card with your active theme's name, a green Active badge, a short description, and a live preview of your home page.
Below it, the Theme library shows every other theme, and at the bottom sits the Version history card.
Preview a theme before switching
Every theme card contains a real, scaled-down render of that theme's home page, not a static mockup, so what you see is exactly what you get. To look closer:
Hover over a theme's preview thumbnail.
Click Open full preview. The theme's home page opens full size in a new browser tab, using your board's data.
Each card also lists a few highlights and a row of small badges naming the sections that theme's default home page is built from (for example Hero, Job list, Categories).
Activate a different theme
In the Theme library, find the theme you want and click its green Activate button.
A confirmation dialog explains what happens: the theme replaces your board's layout on your live board, your content is untouched, and your current board is saved to version history first. Confirm to proceed.
You will see a toast such as "Aurora is live", and the theme moves up into the Current theme slot.
Activation applies immediately to your public board; there is no draft step here. If you want to experiment safely, remember that a snapshot of the previous state is always taken first, so you are one Restore away from where you were.
From the Current theme card, two buttons take you onward: Customize opens the visual builder to edit the page section by section, and Colors and fonts opens the Appearance page (see Brand colors, fonts, and appearance tokens).
What switching does and does not change
Kept: jobs, employers, candidates, blog posts, custom pages, navigation links, brand color, fonts and all other appearance tokens.
Replaced: the page layouts, the header and footer chrome, and each theme's own default section stacks.
Theme-specific controls: a theme declares which global style controls it honors. For example, a theme that draws no cards does not show a Card style control on the Appearance page.
Sections a theme cannot draw: if a page you built contains a section type the new theme does not support, the builder lists it as Unsupported section and it simply is not shown on your board. You can remove it, or switch back to a theme that supports it, and its settings reappear intact.
Version history: your undo for big changes
The Version history card keeps snapshots of your live board. A snapshot is taken automatically before every publish from the builder, before every theme change, and before every restore, so you always have a way back. Each entry shows a label describing what triggered it (for example "Before publish" or "Before Aurora") with a date and time, plus how many sections the snapshot contains.
In the sidebar, open Design and click Themes, then scroll to Version history.
Click Restore next to the version you want. A confirmation dialog warns that restoring replaces what is currently live.
Confirm. Your board immediately renders that snapshot, and a new "Before restore" snapshot of the state you just left is saved, so even a restore is undoable.
To remove a snapshot you no longer need, click the trash icon on its row. If the card says "No versions yet", publish a page or activate a theme and the first snapshot appears.
