Set up your job board

From a fresh workspace to a live, branded board: the five setup steps.

Written by Traian

When you finish signing up, your job board is already live on the internet, filled with sample content so you can see what a working board looks like. This guide walks you through the Set up your job board checklist that greets you on the dashboard, step by step, until the board is running on your own content.

Find your way around the dashboard

Sign in and you land on the Dashboard page. Three areas matter right now:

  • The sidebar (left): Dashboard on top, then collapsible groups named Insights, Recruiting, Content, Distribution, Engagement, Monetization, and Design. Settings sits at the bottom, just above your workspace name.

  • The top bar (right side): a Trial chip showing how many days remain in your 14-day free trial, and a View public board link that opens your live board in a new tab. Use that link often; it shows exactly what job seekers see.

  • The setup card, titled Set up your job board, with a progress bar (for example, 1 / 5 done). Each of its five steps is a row you can expand. The next step to do is highlighted and already open.

The dashboard home page with the Set up your job board checklist showing 1 of 5 steps done, the Post your first real job step expanded, and a Recent jobs table below

Below the card, a Recent jobs table lists the sample jobs (from sample employers such as Harbor & Vine) with their status and creation date, plus a New job button.

The checklist tracks itself. easyboard checks your real data, so a step is marked done automatically when you complete it, even if you did it from somewhere else in the dashboard.

Step 1: Create your job board (already done)

The first row, Create your job board, has a green check from the start: signing up created the board. The row shows your live address, something like your-name.myeasyjobboard.com. Expand the row to get two buttons:

  1. View your board opens the public board in a new tab. Browse it now so you know what the sample data looks like from a visitor's side.

  2. Customize takes you to Settings, where you can change the board name, logo, and defaults later.

If you want a different address than the one you picked at signup, you can rename it at any time; see Change your board address.

Step 2: Post your first real job

The second row, Post your first real job, says "Replace the sample roles with one of your own."

  1. Click Post a job inside the expanded row. (The New job button on the Recent jobs table goes to the same form, as does Recruiting, then Jobs in the sidebar.)

  2. Fill in at least the Job Title and Job Description, pick an employer, and set the Status to published when you are ready for it to appear on the board. A draft is saved privately and is not visible on your board yet.

  3. Click Add job.

The moment one non-sample job exists, this step gets its green check. For every field on the job form, including salary, work location, tags, and how applicants apply, see Post and manage jobs.

Step 3: Remove the sample data

The third row, Remove the sample data, clears the example employers, jobs, and candidates that were set up to demo your board.

  1. Click Remove samples. It takes you straight to the Sample data card in General settings and highlights it with a colored ring so you cannot miss it.

  2. Click the red Remove sample data button and confirm in the dialog. Everything still flagged as sample is deleted in one go; anything you have edited is treated as your own data and is kept.

This step shows as done once no sample jobs remain. Details, including exactly what is deleted and what is preserved, are in Remove the sample data.

Step 4: Connect Stripe to get paid

The fourth row, Connect Stripe to get paid, is how you charge employers for postings. You connect your own Stripe account and keep 100% of the revenue; easyboard takes no cut of your sales.

  1. Click Connect Stripe in the expanded row. This opens the Payment platform page (also reachable from Settings, or from the Monetization group in the sidebar).

  2. On the Stripe Connect card, click Connect to Stripe and complete Stripe's hosted onboarding (business details, bank account). If you leave partway through, come back and click Continue Stripe onboarding.

The step is checked as soon as a Stripe account is linked. You can skip this entirely if your board is free for employers. The full walkthrough is in Connect Stripe, and pricing your postings is covered in Sell job postings.

Step 5: Link a custom domain

The last row, Link a custom domain, moves your board from the free subdomain to an address you own, like jobs.yourbrand.com.

  1. Click Add a domain to open the Domain page.

  2. In the Custom domain card, enter your hostname and click Attach domain.

  3. Add the single A record shown on screen at your DNS provider. The SSL certificate is issued automatically a few minutes after the record propagates.

Custom domains are included on the Advanced and Enterprise plans. Your free subdomain keeps working either way, so this step is optional and safe to leave for later. Follow Connect a custom domain when you are ready.

Finish up, or dismiss the card

As steps complete, the progress bar fills toward 5 / 5 done and each row collapses to a checkmark with a one-line summary. The card has two controls in its top-right corner:

  • The chevron collapses the step list to just the header while you work on other things.

  • The X dismisses the card for good. A dialog asks Dismiss the setup guide?; choose Dismiss to confirm or Keep showing to back out. Dismissing only hides the card; nothing about your board changes, and any unfinished steps can still be done from their own pages.

What to do next

With the checklist done, three things give the biggest payoff:
