The Appearance page holds your board's global styles: one set of tokens that restyles every page of your public board at once. In the sidebar, open Design and click Appearance. The left side is the Global styles card; the right side is a Live preview that updates as you type, before you save anything.
Brand color, corner radius and font
Under Brand color, click the color swatch to pick visually, or type a hex value such as #cb6a4d into the text field. It is used for primary buttons, links, badges and focus rings. If the value is not a valid hex color you will see "Enter a hex color" and saving is blocked.
Under Corner radius, choose Sharp, Default or Rounded. This controls how rounded buttons, cards and inputs appear.
Under Font, pick a typeface for all board text. The list offers 30 curated families grouped as Sans, Serif, Display and Mono (Outfit is the default), each previewed in its own face, plus an Uploaded group if you have added your own fonts. Every font is self-hosted from your board; a visitor's browser never contacts Google.
Colors: recolor the whole surface
The Colors block recolors your board's page surface with four clearable pickers: Background, Text, Background (dark mode) and Text (dark mode). You only pick two colors per mode; cards, muted panels and borders are derived automatically so everything stays in tune.
Leave a field blank (placeholder "Theme default") to keep the theme's own palette for that mode.
Set a background but leave text blank, and a readable text color is derived for you.
Click Clear next to a filled field to return it to the theme default.
Components: headings, buttons, inputs, cards
The Components block styles the building blocks your board renders:
Heading font: a separate typeface for headings; body text keeps the main font. Unset, headings follow the body font.
Heading size: Small, Default, Large or Extra large. Scales every heading on the board at once.
Button shape: Default, Pill or Square.
Button text weight: Medium, Semibold or Bold.
Input style: Outline (bordered) or Filled (soft background, no border).
Card style: Bordered, Shadow or Flat.
Which of these appear depends on your active theme: a theme declares the controls it honors, so a theme that draws no cards shows no Card style control. See Choose and customize your theme.
Header overrides
The Header block overrides your board's top bar. Every control here has a Theme default value; leave it there and the theme keeps its own look.
Background color: a hex color for the bar. Leave blank to keep the theme's bar; the text color adjusts automatically to stay legible.
Height: Compact, Regular or Tall.
Logo size: Small, Medium or Large.
Logo position: Left or Center.
Sticky on scroll: Sticky (the bar follows the visitor down the page) or Static.
Saving your changes
Nothing on the Global styles card touches your live board until you save. As soon as anything differs from the saved state, an "Unsaved changes" bar appears in the admin top bar with Discard and Save changes; the card has its own Cancel and Save changes buttons at the bottom too. After saving you will see an "Appearance saved" toast, and your public board reflects the new styles on the next load. Cancel or Discard reverts every control to the last saved value.
Light and dark mode
The Light and dark mode card, below Global styles, saves on change (no save bar):
Board appearance: choose Light, Dark or Follow device. Light and Dark force that appearance for every visitor; Follow device matches each visitor's own system setting, so design for both modes if you choose it. If you pick Dark, set your dark-mode colors in the Colors block above, or the board falls back to the theme defaults.
Let visitors switch mode: turn this on to add a light/dark toggle to your board. A visitor's choice overrides your setting for them only.
Upload your own fonts
The Custom fonts card lets you use a typeface that is not in the curated list, for example your company's licensed brand font.
Under Font name, type the family name, for example "Acme Sans". Uploads sharing a name form one family.
Pick the Weight (300 Light through 800 Extrabold) and Style (Normal or Italic) this file contains.
Under Font file, choose the file and click Upload font.
Only .woff2 files are accepted, up to 2 MB each; the file's contents are verified, so a renamed .ttf will be rejected. Upload one file per weight you use: if you only upload the regular weight, bold text is synthesized by the browser rather than rendered from the real bold face. Uploaded fonts then appear in the Uploaded group of both font pickers, and like the curated fonts they are served from your own board, never from a third party.
Deleting a family removes its files. If your theme still references it, the board quietly falls back to the default font, and the font picker labels the value "(deleted)" so you can pick a replacement.
